Interesting that you choose this one.  I threw it in sort of at the  
last moment... but I'm glad you like it!


I must say that having "the run of the stage" (and having checked with  
all the musicians that it would be ok for me to do that) sure makes  
the photographic process more entertaining.


Shooting from behind out to the crowd can make for some really cool  
shots.

I had squishy-foam earplugs in - a 30dB cut is good enough to get by.

But the sound mix was pretty merciful, too - that's my twin brother on  
the soundboard there and he does a good job of not killing the audience.

when working on and around stages. It also means that i can literally
stand in front of the speaker stack to get some good side views. This
vicinity is usually clear of any sane beings to a radius of a few feet
affording good shooting, and can hear the music through my lungs :-) I
had one bad experience with shooting in an excessively loud situation
many years ago and have carried the ear protection ever since.
