In fact, I think K10D with its 3 fps seems to be right on target for me
- not too fast, not too slow.

On my camera there is 'H' and 'L' for the continuous shooting speeds.
The user defines what rate H (high) is and what L (low) is. I have it
set at 3fps (L) and 8fps (H).

Yes but not sure for how long. It's a fabulous little (!) camera but I
have two issues with it - the viewfinder and frame rate. It is painfully
slow to me, although this really shouldn't matter as I wanted a camera
that wasn't fast - eg I wanted to concentrate on the so-called decisive
moment, rather than ratatatatatat my pics. I can do that at 8fps with my
big Canon (as the bishop said to the actress). But the viewfinder is
really not up to manual focussing.

For what it is, it's a superb piece of kit and as it only cost me a
couple of hundred quid at the end of the day, I'll probably hang onto
it. The flash is a miracle of design, and ergonomically it's great to
use. But I probably want it to be something else - something that it isn't.

Meanwhile, I'm searching for my next acquisition ;-)

Yep, I think I can still picture a splash of horror on my face when I
held 1DMk2 of Frantisek and took a picture of my brother. Instead of one
I took how many - at least 5 in a machine gun manner.

In fact, I think K10D with its 3 fps seems to be right on target for me
- not too fast, not too slow.

But I thought L1 was more like an AF Leica-like kinda beast.

But Cotty, given the size of a sensor and DOF of 20 mm lens - perhaps
you could zone focus manually - you know - preset it to certain distance
given the aperture setting and just walk away happily snapping around...

Me too. I am trying to enable myself with A 50/1.2. No luck just yet.

Cheers.
