Re: PESO - Cathy at the AW (No Napkin Holder)
Hi, I took the napkin holder out. Instead of cloning and cutting and pasting, I used the patch tool. Pretty quick and painless - almost too easy ;-)) So, whattaya think? It looks better to my eye. Shel [Original Message] From: Don Williams http://home.earthlink.net/~shel-pix/cathy_aw.html I downloaded you picture and cut and pasted a piece of the counter over the offending napkin holder. It didn't match -- so I just cloned it out carefully. The picture looks better. But now the counter interferes a bit. The density matches that of Cathy's face too closely.

Re: PESO - Cathy at the AW (No Napkin Holder)
I agree, much, much better. Lovely photo. Kinda scary that you can so easily alter an image, eh? Many times I've carried around a memory of an image for years, only to go back and see the actual print/slide and find out that my memory was wrong. No longer a problem! Was weird to see Firefox first attempt to show the local cached copy - then it realized that the graphic had changed. So I got the original photo for a split second, and then POOF the napkin dispenser disappeared. Cool! -Charles -- Charles Robinson [EMAIL PROTECTED] Minneapolis, MN http://charles.robinsontwins.org

Shel, I missed the original. Would you mind reposting it? I'd like to compare the two. Thanks! On 4/20/06, Shel Belinkoff [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi, I took the napkin holder out. Re: PESO - Cathy at the AW (No Napkin Holder)
Hey Bill, I was just acceding to the requests of others. For the most part I don't care for the fix-it-in-Photoshop approach, but it was a good exercise for me to see what ~could~ be done. My comment that it's almost too easy might have allowed a clue as to my feelings. If you're judging me for doing this, remember it was an exercise, not a general approach to photography.
