Bruce, This is definitely one of the best egret shots I've seen in a while. Amazing detail in the perfect exposure as evident in the birds legs and feet. The bokeh is very pleasing also. Thanks, Jay. This was shot handheld. Yeah, that Tokina is a fine lens. A few years ago, I had a Pentax A 400/5.6 lens. I have found the Tokina to be a pretty similar performer (closer focusing, by far) in a much more compact and usable package.
