This one doesn't work for me (I missed the other one somehow ) largely
due to the blurry grass on the left that falls in that
range of out-of-focusness that my eyes don't like... the structure
itself sort of points to it - best way I can explain it.

Hi Marnie

I quite like this except that there is insufficient contrast on the left edge
between the building and the background. Perhaps some masking to selectivly
lighten the background?

Thanks, Paul.

It wasn't really sitting totally by itself, there was a chain link fence on
the other side. Well, I will do a gallery someday for nephews, family history
stuff that I am putting together. But I doubt I will put it on list, as some
is just interesting from a family history viewpoint but not that
photographically good. I do have one or two others of other old stuff from
that trip
that I may show on list someday, though.

Thanks for the input.

I thought that might be the problem with it. Those leading lines seem to
imply there ought to be something there in the background. Only there wasn't,
really. Just a farm house, and not much of it showing. I thought of tighter
crop but I didn't think that would work.

The playing with was blurring the background, unblurred it merged too much
with the homestead.

I might try a tight crop but that would cut off the roof line. Probably one
of those situations were there was a photo there but I didn't quite get it.

Thanks for the input.

Ummm... sorry not for me. I really can't pin down why though. I find the
building itself to overpower the shot, maybe extending too far to the left,
making the background portion on the far left side seem like a distraction.
It does have some interest especially the spider webs in the corner of the
window.

It might like it better once I get my high-def monitor though.
