Yes, the trolley was rather a dominating presence in the photo.

This is from a slightly earlier exposure, cropped so that there's
just a bit of the trolley to provide context:

Yes - I prefer that although the trolley is now an incidental part of
the image. Probably need a new title :-)>

That's better for me but the trolley does nothing at all for me. The
shadows are the subject. :)

I like that much better. Before I couldn't really tell what was trolley
and what wasn't. Better pattern overall.

I'm in the minority in that I liked the first better. There's enough streetcar
(or tram or whatever you call them there) to distract but not enough to satisfy
my curiosity.

First one was more dynamic to my eye.

Did you shoot any of those patterns without the vehicle at right? I
think the fence and shadows would work really well by themselves...

The shadows are great, I like the pattern. But it needs more trolley
to work. Or as others suggested, crop it and leave only the shadows.

For me, this is one of those shots that is all about pattern rather than a
specific subject. The shot shows enough context to know what I am looking at.
But that context weakens the pattern that is the real subject. If you crop off
the upper third, the pattern comes into its own and reveals the interesting
picture. My opinion, ymmv

Rick I really like this. I (the mad cropper) would cut off the white
object at the top as it pulls me away from the more interesting subject.
YMMV

It's a great idea that for me doesn't quite work. You need more
trolley; its wheels more in view for instance.
