Hmmm ... at first I really liked the photo, then I thought the colors were
really dull and uninteresting, then, the more I looked the more I disliked
the patterns. So, I'm ambivalent about it, even though at one moment I
like it quite a bit and at another I just makes me nauseous. It certainly
drew me in and got me involved. I do applaud your trying something
different.

Thanks for the compliment there! :-)

Take some Pepto-Bismol and go to bed.

Re: PESO - Water Warp

2006-07-14 Thread Jostein Øksne
Hi Tom,

I like it for this reasons:
1. The composition. I think it's nicely laid out. If this as framed,
I'm thoroughly impressed. :-)
2. The concentric patterns in the light parts. Every time I've tried,
getting nice patterns in this part has been difficult.
3. It is very natural. There are some particles in the water surface,
but they do not distract.

The leftmost light pattern disturbs me a little because it is out of focus.

Cool. Basically I like it, but I think the composition isn't quite what it
could be. Those silvery sections end up being long sections that sort of run
out
of the frame too much. i.e. the eye goes out of the frame too much -- doesn't
return enough.

This would have worked better as a vertical, Tom, in my humble opinion. If
you try it again you might try it that way and see what you think.

Thanks Frank. :-) I specifically "de-rotated" it to the displayed

Somehow I found it less appealing when made a vertical composition.
