PESO - downtown Dallas - bird's eye view
Even though Dallas is on the news in regards to the recent anniversary of JFK's assassination, this was not prompted by that. A week ago I was flying to Knoxville, and the plane flew by the downtown just before landing at DFW. http://42graphy.org/misc/_IR08947.jpg I am not 100% happy with this image, but cannot figure out what can be done. So, all comments are welcome. Igor - I played with this a little in PSE 10 - auto color correction, adjusted levels, adjusted shadows & highlights and sharpened a little using the high pass filter. Here's what I came up with...I'll remove this in 24 hours, sooner if you'd like... https://www.dropbox.com/s/0xb6dfzn99y7u1r/PhotoByIgor.jpg -p On 11/23/2013 11:31 AM, Igor Roshchin wrote: Even though Dallas is on the news in regards to the recent anniversary of JFK's assassination, this was not prompted by that. A subtle vignette might add to it a little, too. Actually, it's Igor's image, I just fooled with the processing a little, that's why I said I'd take it down if he wanted. -p On 11/23/2013 12:45 PM, Attila Boros wrote: On Sat, Nov 23, 2013 at 8:22 PM, Paul Sorenson wrote: I played with this a little in PSE 10 - auto color correction, adjusted levels, adjusted shadows & highlights and sharpened a little using the high pass filter. Whoa! Sometimes Auto is a good thing. :-) That should inspire you, Igor. Nicely framed original shot. Excellent shot, Igor. You should sell it to the local chamber of commerce. Re: PESO - downtown Dallas - bird's eye view
Many thanks to all who offered their version of the image both through and off the list (Paul and two more fellows), as well as verbal suggestions. All those are very helpful. A large variation between the different version I was offered was the amount of the blue cast (which is present in the original photo). The edited versions had it reduced or even switched to a brownish cast. I am yet to figure out how one would do the latter without making major changes in individual colors. Also, I am not sure what tonality on that scale blue-brown I'd like to see in this photo. Dan and Bruce: thanks for the compliments.
