I have only browsed part of this month's PUG, but thought it was time I gave some feedback. Here goes: Australasian Harrier-Max McRae --Awesome looking predator. Zoo? What zoo? Boris-Butch Black --a handsome fellow. My condolences on the anniversary of your loss. I, too, have lost such a beloved one. For Those Who Hate Cats - a Double Dose-Lon Williamson and Kiki-Jim Meeks --ok, there *have* to be dog owners among us. Where are your canine shots??? You Otter be in Pictures-Dan Matyola --That behind the scenes tour was worth it. Jellyfish-Stephen Pruetz --Great contrast. I had a similar experience at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, California. You Can't See Me -- Nana Nana Na Na-E.R.N. Reed --I think the lizard is doing a good job; so is the photographer Afternoon of a Caterpillar-Mark Cassino --That caterpillar must not have been very hungry. I enjoyed the somewhat creaminess of the colors. Crater Lake, Oregon-Steve Larson --WOW. I love the blueness. Was that the effect of the polarizer? Sunset-Alan Chan --Another wow. Nothing else to say. A Storm Approaches-Brendan Bhagan --I'll have to remember that tea is a multipurpose beverage. Pt. Reyes Lighthouse-Bruce Dayton --Morning light will be behind the photographer (and lighting up the light house) and not in your face like in the afternoon. Having made this same journey before, I can say that it's a lot harder coming back up those 300+ stairs. Too bad it was foggy windy the days I've gone. I have yet to see it in full sunlight. Grand Tetons-Jerome Reyes --Goody. A picture to go with the tale of you cross country trip. My Chevy-Paul Stenquist --Vroom, vroom. Very nice classic car. Scale-Simon King --I like the strong lines in this photo. It just draws your eye straight to the family at th end. Autumn-Martin Mielke --Ahh, the memories. Lovely shot. That's all for now, Pat in SF __ Do you Yahoo!? Exclusive Video Premiere - Britney Spears http://launch.yahoo.com/promos/britneyspears/

Hi Pat, Thank you very much! Yes, I did crank the polarizer on full blast to get the water really blue. I wish I had more time at the lake to try more lenses. I should have been using a more saturated film instead (as Butch pointed out). I`d like to try Konica Impressa 50 next time. Thanks for taking the time to comment Pat! Among other things, Konica Impressa 50 scans extremely well - no grain to speak of. I have found no better-scanning negative film. Maris Steve Larson wrote: Hi Pat, Thank you very much! Should have had a warm-up filter on this bright but overcast day. 2. slight cutoff of subject. Naughty boy, you are old enough to know better. Fixed length lens = more use of feet. 3. _maybe_ would have been better if she had been looking at camera. I am far too slow and unpractised to catch real decisive moments. 4. skillful use of fill flash might have improved colour balance. mike
