Re: Pentax Bellows
It was 18.00 with shipping. I figure to get the m-42 to K adapter and then pick up M-42 lenses or else get an M-39 to M-42 adapter and use Leica thread enlarging lenses. JCO was kind enough to remind me of that option. Much like the old Heiland Reponar Slide Duplicator, it allowed different camera bodies via t-tings and different lenses via female camera adapters. Inherited mine from Dad, and i bought my 49mm reversing ring from the camerhunter in CA. Good communication and fast shipping. Re: Pentax Bellows
The M42->K mount adapter will only work at the camera end. If you get one of these it might behoove you to invest in an M42 lens of the focal length you wish to use or use a reversing ring. Hey, good idea. I used to have a slide copier made by Honeywell that used a Pentax screw mount bellows and that is what we used for slide duping. I had forgotten about those type adapters. RE: Pentax Bellows- LOW COST ALTERNATIVES
Dude, use the "mount adapter K" on the body end and get a M39 to M42 adapter for the lens end. Then you can use superb but dirt cheap high end 39mm mount enlarging lenses as the taking lenses. Schneider, Rodenstock, El-Nikkor, etc. get at least 100mm focal length or you may not be able to get infinity focus if you need that. I use 80, 105, 135, and 180mm enlarging lenses for macro. One thing you need to be sure of is that the enlarging lenses you get have many iris blades (8 or even more) because the bokeh will really suck with anything less. Seems like the older enl. lenses tend to have more blades and give the best bokeh. Sharpness is fantastic at macro ranges. I had to make a custom mount for the 180 using a M42 T mount ring if I recall correctly. In that case I dont use the M39 to M42 ring. jco -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mark Roberts Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2008 7:16 PM To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List Subject: Re: Pentax Bellows Walter Hamler wrote: > I just bought a Pentax Bellows from an internet telescope source. Somewhere around here, I have a K to M42 adaptor. It is a short extension tube with a screw mount at the back end, and a K-mount at the front. It's probably a Spiratone part. Porter's might have something similar. If nothing else, the Takumar 100mm bellows lens is very nice indeed. I'm sure someone on the list has one they'd be happy to sell you. There was a 50mm Bellows Takumar that was designed specifically for use with the bellows, but any screw-mount lens will fit. For the camera end, you'll need an M42-K mount adapter, plus you might need an extension tube if you're shooting with one of the DSLRs that has a prism/flash base that overhangs the lens mount. -Mat -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
