Re: Pentax S1a Prism Unit
Hi Tim, I tried to reply to your email, but for some unknown reason got blocked. The package will be in the post tomorrow, but I have no idea what the postage will be, or how long it will take to reach you. Do you mean the pentaprism itself... as in the chunk of glass? If so, yes, I could use it. Let me know if that's what you mean. RE: Pentax S1a Question
James, did you mean after focusing and *before* winding on the film? If so I know some cameras of that vintage would leave the mirror in the up position until you advanced to the next frame (I have a 50's Wray that does this). As I mentioned the frame counter does not function properly and it's as if the sring inside is weak, is this easy to repair? Also is it normal to have the mirror 'lock up', after focusing and winding on the film? Where can I find info on the S1a? James - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. Thanks Paul, I wondered if that was the case. James - Original Message - From: Paul M. The mirror should not stay up - that it does suggests the CLA. ppro - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions. Re: Pentax S1a Question
Also is it normal to have the mirror 'lock up', after focusing and winding on the film? On my ca. 1952 Exakta, the mirror remains up after a shot, until you advance the film. Maybe the earliest Pentaxes were the same. Joe - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions. Pentax S1a
Just got back from the swap meet and picked up a few filters, a hot shoe for my son, and an S1a body($30CDN). The only niggle is that the frame counter does not reset, only goes as far as 20. Apart from that , it's is in pretty good condition. James - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
