I do not think it is "exhorbitant", not as expensive as some of the competitors', but am holding my breath. Those USM (SDM) lenses are dust/drip proof. For this reason, I am hoping that they are of an IF design, like FA*80-200. Even if not,m extended barrel won't be so wobbly because of USM & dust/drip proof. Considering that they're DFA, I expect it will be a similar situation to the DFA 50 & 100mm f2.8 macros. "Optimised for digital" FA versions. Jens, The 70mm f2.4 is from the old roadmap. We've known about it officially since February. You had the FA-J 28-80 (18-55), FA 28-70/4 (16-45), FA* 28-70/2.8 (16-50), FA 28-105 (17-70), FA 24-90 and the FA 28-200. That rather depends on whether SDM will be restricted to just the DA* lenses, or whether it will be available on regular DA lenses as well. The DA 16-45 f4 was about AU$650 when it was release here in Australia, my guess is that the 16-50 f2.8 would be anywhere between AU$900-1200. Considering how cheap the K10D is going to retail for, Pentax may be looking to make money on DA* lens sales?
