I hate those collectors. Good equipment should be used, not stored and
displayed.

My A*85 is used, looks used, is optically near perfect and I´ll never
sell it. And from it´s outer appearance, no collector will want it :-)

Cheers Bob,
Thanks for the tip. No worries about spoiling the bargain hunters hunt
on this one then ;-(

p.s. F4 lens would be 1:4, not 1.4 (which is 1:1.4)

that's a lot of money for an f:4.0 lens! ;O)
The A* f/1.4 is at least as good as any other lens in its class, and
usually sells for about the same as the others. A number of us have
experience of this lens and other 85/1.4s from different makers.
Whether
it's worth it or not is a matter for the individual wallet.

In another thread you asked for a list of the unwritten rules of pdml.
There is a long-standing convention that we don't mention Pentax items
on auction sites before the sale is concluded. The exception to this
is that it's ok for people to post items they themselves are selling.
The thinking behind this is that many people put a lot of effort into
searching for bargains, and it's not fair on them if something they're
bidding on suddenly attracts a lot of bids from people who put no
effort into it.
Some people disagree with this convention, and from time to time
somebody posts notice of an auction. Occasionally it all flares up
into an e-squabble.
I neither buy nor sell on auction sites, so I have no personal stake
in this either way.
I don't know whether or not this sale was over when you posted your
email, so I'm not having a go at you, merely mentioning one of our
(sometimes controversial) little conventions.

 Bob
