Point the phone at yourself and your environs (or a pay per minute video background that will make you LOOK like you're there!) and send her a copy as you speak. Driving along it looks like your on the phone, but you're really downloading MP-3s and editing the party music you'll be using this weekend. Not sure what the current situation is like in the U.S., but out here in Japan, many of the 1-hour shops and big photo houses now have personal-use printing booths where you can take your digital camera/memory cards (in all incarnations) in the shops alongside traditional film print machines. As far as disposable cameras go, given how quickly new models are being introduced, we are practically there. In fact, the latest trend now is to combine a mini-CCD with the mobile phones to offer 'on the spot' digital photos that can be mailed back and forth (since mobile phone ownership is ridiculously high here). Not to mention that Sony just rolled out a combination MP3 and mobile phone unit as well... RE: Digital is here. Film production to be stopped!
Hi all We seem to be forgetting, that most of us live our lives in the worlds most advanced countries. A lot of people in other parts of the world don't have refrigeratores, cars, telvisions, computers So, when will everybody get a computer as well as a digital camera? A classic P&S camera can be purchased for maybe 20-30$. A film for 3-5$. Bottom line is: I'm sure some company will make film for many years to come. Don't dump your LX'es and MZ's just yet... I sure am, but not fast enough to be able to buy one when it reaches the shelves. I'm hoping that prices will drop over time and my savings will eventually reach the point where I can buy a camera like that. The chances are very good that, by the time I have enough money saved, digital cameras will be even better and cheaper than the 6 Mega-pixel model Pentax announced.
