The January PUG hasn't been posted yet so I don't expect the Feb
submission form to be available until after that.

Thanks Tanya, glad you like it. It was made especially for the PUG :-)

"In the rain" gets my vote as well. A quiet beauty permeates much of
Gianfranco's work. This, coupled with a lack of pretension on the part of the
photographer, yeilds an emotional impact that you just don't see in a lot of
shooting.

I also confess that I found annsan's picture most striking - the underexposure
works to its advantage, and I almost believed they were real horses in there.

Never having seen this picture "Fun at the Fountain" of Jerome Reyes
before, this is my top favourite amongst many good shots of this month.
The expression, the position of her arms and legs, as well as the
movement of the kids in the background all make this an unforgettable
(and not standard) picture in my opinion.

My next favourite is "In the rain" from Gianfranco Irlanda. And so on...

Thanks Cotty!

"Red Leaves, Dag Thrane"
Me too, I LOVE this shot - highly saturated but still with great detail,
just gorgeous! Love the composition with just one curled edge adding that
small touch of green to the image for some great contrast.

"A Watery Post, Ken Waller"
Same again, Cotty. I love this shot too Ken. It is beautifully sharp, and
almost appears symmetrical in nature. This is the type of shot that I
probably would never have thought to do myself...

" Fountain, Bruce Dayton"
A beautiful example of night photography, with a twist due to the movement
of the fountain in the foreground.

"In The Rain, Gianfranco"
Hands down, my absolute favourite...!

I also liked (in no particular order):

" Vasa, by Joseph Tainter"
Really great shot Joseph! One suggestion though - the blue "column" in the
middle (a reflection of sorts?), I find slightly distracting - I would
probably PS it out if it were me... Other than that, a lrvly shot with
a very interesting perspective...

" Hot Water, by Cotty"
Another interesting shot with an interesting perspective. Good to see that
you have a clean stove (cooker) - my hotplates never look like that! lol.

" Wet Bee, by Mark Cassino"
Goes without saying really, this is a very impressive shot!

I want to make special mention of "Two Rivers", by Erin Dayton.
Thankyou so much for submitting a shot of your fantastic "discovery". I too
would have been very excited to find this out! It is lovely to see some
young people submitting to the PUG (and especially GIRLS! lol). Just one
thing Bruce, maybe you could give Erin a lesson or two about horizons?
*grins*. Thankyou again Erin, I hope that my little boy enjoys photography
as much as you do!

I will make some more comments later, but I've had a rough night and I'm
going to go back to bed for a bit!

tan.

" Fun at the Fountain, by Jerome Reyes"
So very cute!

Shots that *I'd* wish I had taken:

"Everyday Miracle, Simon King"

Simply STUNNING Simon. A moment that just cannot be repeated and you have
captured it perfectly. Look at the expression on his little face! The
light's really add atmosphere! I would post some similar shots of my
daughter being born, but lets just say, well, I didn't have a ceasar and
they may not be everyone's cup of tea! They are in black and white too
though, and the medical lighting offered a similar "atmosphere" to them as
yours. I just LOVE this shot Simon, and I would have been so proud to be
the photographer of it (as well as the nervous daddy!!). Thank you for
sharing such a precious moment with us...

"Stone Town, Zanzibar, 1998, Bob Walkden"

Again, I am in agreement with Cotty here - this is a beautiful shot. Feels
classic in its nature, and although sunset silhouettes are quite commonly
shot, this one is indeed special. There is such grace in the diver and the
clouds were perfectly placed to give off just the right amount of colour and
light from the sunset. Going to be a little cheeky now, and note though,
that the horizon is SLIGHTLY off - possibly by 1degree? Sorry, don't mean
to criticise, it is just something that I always tend to notice...

" Moss, by Jostein Øksne" - lovely and most interesting shot!

There are many, many technical issues with Netscape 6.0, especially in the
area of JavaScript. The commercial website I produce and those done by many
others have "No 6.0" policies in effect, meaning that we'll support any
revision prior to 6.0 but not later. Stick with 4.7x. In fact, Netscape has
continued to release updates to 4.7.

It loads fine in my ancient copy of NetScraper on my equally
ancient Mac. However, I had trouble w/ the entry form (maybe
to heavy on the JavaScript?) so I couldn't get an entry in :^(

Maybe I'll put mine up on my "Photo of the Week" page, instead.
Is the old "email to PugMeister" system still OK, or have we
gone high-tech only w/ the submission form?
