PDMLs a bit quiet today! Anyway, I asked this about an LX I saw in a shop in
Camden, London UK a couple of years back. Brand new in box etc, and they
wanted offers over £900 for it. The replies here from people who know,
implied that it would be good for a collector for display, but the long term
storage element meant it needed a CLA before use.

Not that I would put anyone off buying an LX - brilliant camera.

Well, considering that it comes with sticky mirror, and an oxidized
  ISO
resistor, probablt less than you think it should, by quite a margin.

I have no preconceived idea about it's value, that's why I'm asking.
I've watched the prices for used ones falling on ebay but have not
ever seen a new one there so I have no clue as to its value. Do you?

 BTW, it functions perfectly.

In which case, it is no longer new in the usual, commercial sense of the
word..

Rough guess - about £500 for immediate sale, maybe up to £200 more if
you are prepared to hang on and hope the market is not collapsing.

I think the LX2000 was going for 2 grand. They said they were not selling at
that price, but then if you wanted one you could not find one to buy. Pentax is
good at producing something making it unavailable to the customer then saying it
don't sell.

If I had a NIB original LX I would not sell it on Ebay but put it up at one of
the auction houses like Christie's. Wouldn't fetch $112,100 like that Leica M3
though, didn't someone say Leicas are getting cheaper?

You might as well accept people as they are,
you are not going to be able to change them anyway.

If it is brand new in box, and functions perfectly (which is very unlikely,
due to the design of the camera), and is not one of the special editions,
body only, no prism, I would expect 600 -800 US$ right now.
