Re: Lightroom 3 now available
You're SOL on the iBook, LR3 requires an Intel-based Mac. Your PC's graphics card is far too old to support CUDA and the PC itself is probably too old, current system requirements are a P4 and 2GB of RAM running XP SP3 or later. -Adam On Sat, Jun 12, 2010 at 7:36 AM, David J Brooks wrote: > I have a G4 iBook, should i be concerned on LR3 working here. Not sure what you're talking about, but Macbooks have Nividia graphics cards. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CUDA Paul, CUDA is a technology that potentially allows to use one's GPU in order to assist the CPU thereby significantly increasing combined computational power. It is said that the nature of computations that programs such as LightRoom or Photoshop perform lends itself easily to such an enhancement. As a matter of purely subjective evidence, my brother (IT consultant, etc) indicated to me that I may expect as much as 5-10 *times* faster processing of my images should new LR have CUDA integration. I hope it sheds some light on this.
