I have the Metz 40MZ-1 with the SCA3702, I think it is about the same amount
of light. The current offerings are called 40MZi-1 and 40MZi-3, one has the
second direct flash build-in, so you have the big flash that you can use to
aim at the ceiling, and still get some less light direct on your subject. I
think it offers all the AF500FTZ has to offer, certainly with "TTL, 2nd
curtain sync, zoom head, manual settings, and AF assist." If you buy a
second one with the SCA3800 you even have wireless TTL for the slave,
something the Pentax doesn't offer. I have used it on my ME super in AUTO
setting, so it also can do autoexposure with the build in cell. I am a Metz
fan.
