Thanks, Burce - the flash was directly on the camera. On the Ricohflex 
the hotsho is on the side of the box so the flash almost lines up with 
the lens. The posted image is a crop of about the top 25% of the image - 
the camera was pretty low and he was actually almost lit from below

The secretions on the skin of many frogs is intended to deter toothed animals 
from such nonsense. Some of the critters are poisonous, especially in the 
tropical climes. A few are deadly poisonous. 

It's a good practice wherever you are to NOT lick a frog or toad, or lick your 
hand clean if you've handled one.   :)
