You could have also recalled that I visited Jostein of Norway ;-) twice.
And given that Switzerland is not farther away than Norway is, I am
perfectly capable of making it ;-).

Anyway, I see your point ;-).

All three limited lenses of mine will come with me/us though ;-).

Re: PESO:Greetings from Zurich

2007-03-01 Thread Godfrey DiGiorgi
Glad to help.

The A24/2.8 is a very good performer on the DSLRs. I had one for a
year or so and did a lot of photography with it. With the K10D it
will produce the field of view of a 35mm lens on your film SLR. I
don't know anything about the Tamron SP17/3.5. But the DA18-55 lens
is at least a good performer, so one way or another you'll enjoy the
camera.

The DA21 is a little expensive but is well worth it, when you can
afford to go for it.

Paul, thanks a lot.
Next week I finally join the digital Pentax crew with a K10D!
A DA wide lens will have to wait a bit, I hope I get some useful results
with the Tamron SP 17mm 3.5 and the Pentax A24mm.
greetings

Beautiful city, nice collage. It looks very professional.
I don't use the DA 21 (yet), but Godders is very fond of it, and I'm sure
he'll respond. I think Wheatfield has one as well.

Thanks Godfrey for looking at the PESO and commenting on the DA21 mm :-)

I ordered the K10D last week with a second battery and the 18-55 kit lens,
since the body alone is still not available here and I don't want to wait
anymore.
I hope that I get some useful results with the Tamron SP17mm 3.5 and the
Pentax A 24 mm with the K10D, I really like the 24mm on film and can't spend
any more on lenses in the next month. I have to upgrade computer and backup
storage as well, gladly fast and big harddisk like the 400GB IDE Samsung are
quite cheap nowadays here.

Indeed, my homeland and town is beautiful but there are so many great places
all over the world as well as the landscape PESO's here prove easily ;-)

So you're the one making those cards! ;-)

Fun stuff! I haven't been back to Zurich since 1999 ... I spent a lot
of time there in '97-'98, a couple of three week long visits and a
few other "three-days" for business. Lovely city and very photogenic.

Hi Dan
I had a meeting with PDML member Colin Brendemuhl's son in Zurich in January
which reminded me of our meeting as well :-)
We went to lake Zurich and http://www.foerderverein.ch/content/schauhal.htm,
into the old city part having a cup of first quality organic coffee and
truffes made of premium Swiss chocolate and later crossing the park of the
Swiss National Museum to the Longstreet visiting the flea market and more
...

thanks for looking and commenting
greetings
