Re: SMC Takumar 1:1.8/55
James, It often pays to be less specific. Next time, try leaving out Takumar or SMC; in fact, leave out both, or at least authorize EBay to search within the text. Remember, the seller has only 45 letters to play with so he may omit parts of a long name to make room for key words like "minty." More important, understand that in the States we would write 55/1.8, never mind what's on the lens. When searching on Google, it's productive to search both ways. SMC 55/1.8 turns up hits in the States. SMC 1.8/55 turns up hits in Europe. Searching for Vivitar Series One on EBay is a pain. Some sellers write S1 in the heading line; others Series One; others still, Series 1. I usually search for Vivitar Series, then I go for Vivitar S1. Re: SMC Takumar 1:1.8/55
This only happens to people that are obsessed with eBay, and usually results in paying too much for the item to prevent someone else from getting it. Len --- - Original Message - From: "Paul F. You might actually get it for substantially less than $100 - for that price you might be able to get a whole camera on a good day! ppro > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of jmadams > Sent: Saturday, February 23, 2002 12:49 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: SMC Takumar 1:1.8/55 > > > > Call me sentimental, but I really want a replacement for my S/M SMC Takumar > 1:1.8/55 #6841439 with my original SPF. They usually go for less than $100.00 US on e-bay. Sometimes a lot less.
