Yeah, I can see that. OTOH, it doesn't take much to find out which ones of the on-line tutorials are going to help or not. Only takes a few seconds to see if the tutor can communicate an idea. If he/she can, it doesn't take much longer to find out if it's an idea that will help improve your skills in an area you want improved. RE: To Photoshop Class, Or Not?
I learned and am stil learning Photoshop from books/tutorials. I was sent to classes in Adobe Illustrator 10 through my work. So, I'm not quite unfamiliar withthe basics of Adobe software even though many things are quite different in the two Adobe applications. Or did you just learn it from books? I had a hard time with Photoshop until I took an online course in it, years ago. Since then I have just been learning more as I went along. I've never bothered to read a book about it. You might want to check out the book Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for Photographers, First Edition by Martin Evening http://tinyurl.com/2vqy7 It got varying reviews on Amazon, but check it out for yourself. ERN is right; not all professors are that great. Maybe you could see if you could sit in on a class with the instructor of the class you want to take and see if you like him/her. Amita

Re: To Photoshop Class, Or Not?
I suppose it depends on what you're doing with photos. I found 7 to be a vast improvement over 6 for photo repair and restoration, and the file browser is a wonderful tool, once you get to know it. As for it being a memory gobbler, I'd disagree on that point as well. It ran very well on a Win98 machine with 512mb of memory. Can't remember ever needing the scratch disk. Now, compared to Elements, maybe, but it's all relative. Re: To Photoshop Class, Or Not?
- Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: OT: To Photoshop Class, Or Not? So I am curious, if you use Photoshop, did you ever take a class in it? Yes, several over the years, including week long workshops. The most important thing about classes and workshops is not only the teacher's ability to teach but also if Photoshop is being taught for graphic artists or for photographers. Most of the local Community college courses around here (south east Michigan) were being taught with the graphic artist in mind, useful to a point but alot of non useful things were also taught. I've taken weeklong workshops from professional photographers using Photoshop in their everyday business - I learned the most applicable stuff from these guys. I highly recommend Geo Lepp's workshops for the course material and the hands on lab work. One week at one of these will have your head spinning with new ideas and new ways of doing old things you've been doing. Or did you just learn it from books? That also, over the years, from highly recommended books.. Or what? Or what being trying the things I read about and tried at workshop and kept plugging away at it. Marnie aka Doe Hopes this helps.
