RE: a day of firsts

2001-03-11 Thread William Johnson

César,

I'm just catching up too...I developed and printed my
first roll of 120 last night, so I was up until 3:00
a.m.

I had forgotten about the 110's at Forester's.
Howell's had a couple in the display case just as you
enter the store the last time I was in.

I hope that your stay here is enjoyable. I had a
great time at our get together friday and hope that
you can make it out again this way soon.

RE: a day of firsts

2001-03-10 Thread Matamoros, Cesar A.

Tom, William,

Yes the M200/4 is the one Tom sold me. It is the first time I have
had a chance to take it out to use. I was going to leave it behind until
Tom kind of talked me into taking another lens with me - it is so small. I
did not expect it what with mey using the A*300/4 quite a bit.

Hey, if I can get Tom to check out my LX and enable him along the
way - that has to worth something!!

By the way, I am using another screen in the LX - sorry I do not
have the number or documentation handy. It is the one mentioned here about
being used with slower lenses and does not have the split center. I thought
I would try it since I am going to try low light photography eventually. I
love it! I thought I had gotten used to the split center and it felt weird
every time I used the ZX/MZ-5, but it just feels right with the LX.

Sorry for the ramble, things are slow right now here,

César - in Utah

tv,

I had no idea you have never seen one. It did not matter, for I
don't think I even had a camera with me on that trip.

I guess the next time I go to Baltimore I will have to bring one of
them with me. Maybe my original one I showed William - talk about brassing!
It looks as if it has been to war and is ready to go back.

I owe you one,

César

William,

I am finally catching up with the list.

I have to add that I had a great time Friday afternoon. With your
insights on the place and locales I am sure it will make my short stay here
more enjoyable.

Congratulations on the photographic job. I most definitely get in
touch whenever I come this way again.

You would have enjoyed it earlier today. I had the LX on one
shoulder and the MX on the other. Sprinkling rain did not even slow me one
bit in taking photos. Well, yes it did, I had to wipe the water drops off
the front element of the 28 and 50. It was nice to have the hoods on the
135 and 200.

P.S. I really enjoyed Foster's Camera. I will be going again on Monday
take another look at some of the AS IS screwmount lenses they have. They
even had a couple of Auto 110s!!

Hey tom, he also had your old M200/4 with him... at
least I think that is the lens he said he bought from
you. Man, I thought that only in _Utah_ could anyone
go so long without seeing a real live LX. I just
can't get over how well balanced it was and how well
it fit the hand. (how's my enabling? ;-))

Yes, getting paid is fun. I need to do more of it.

Thanks,
