Here's another from a recent roll of film:
http://blog.nickdavidwright.net/2010/10/chicks-pool-hall.html

Also ... I've been debating myself quite a bit recently about whether
to shoot color or bw.

Very nice, Nick. I like the bw rendering here, but I can imagine liking this
in color if, as you say, the color was bold.Still, nice bw conversion.
If color helps give the *story* more power, go with color. If not, do bw.
Probably not much help, but it's my 2 cents :-). Cheers, Christine

Me too, but still a beautiful composition and a very good scene to have, er,
seen.

Bob

I'd like to see more detail in the adult's plumage, but still a good
 capture.

Ken, Christine, and Bob W.
Thanks for looking.
The adult's plumage is indeed washed out. I needed to do more chimping! :-)
This is a big crop from the A300mm f4, a nice lens.

Bob: On my monitor the feathers of the big bird show little detail YMMV
though. Chicks are pretty cool. Cheers, Christine
