From: Bob W p...@web-options.com I particularly like this one, which shows what it can do: http://www.web-options.com/V75/content/L149_large.html Very pretty picture! Hmmm, rush of blood, you say... Apparently this lens is sharp enough to cut through stone, as your examples show. Be careful when you point it at people. RE: Dimples
I've been drooling over that lens since it was announced, but my Leica kit either can't mount it or doesn't have 75mm framelines (Bessa R and an M3) so I'm probably just going to get an old Nikkor-P.C 85/2 instead. -Adam it's a good lens for the M8 because it covers much the same aov as the 90mm tele-elmarit, which I also have and like very much, on the M3. The 90mm lens on the M8 gives an awkward angle of view though, and is too long a focal length for the framelines on the m8. I haven't really figured out the framing of the 75/1.8 on the M8 yet though. The framelines are notoriously inaccurate on the M8 at anything other than the minimum focusing distance. I need to do some thought-out testing. It's quite a big lens for what it is, but beautifully made, very smooth. I also have a 28/2 Ultron and if anything the 75/1.8 feels even better than that one. It's definitely soft wide open, but sharpens up quickly, and I guess that softness is part of the cost of having that speed for that price in an M-mount. Greek statues often have a small penis as it symbolically portrayed that the intellect and not the desires dominated a man's being. It's also probably a good thing if sodomy is the national pastime.
