Re: enablement question

2011-01-26 Thread David Parsons
That flash is not going to be very useful with your K10D. It's TTL
only, and your camera doesn't speak TTL.

http://www.cameramanuals.org/flashes_meters/pentax_af220t.pdf

If you are going to be using them on film cameras that speak TTL, it
will be usable, though very basic. Personally, I'd sell them off and
get something that has some kind of manual power control. Sunpaks are
my brand of choice and they tend to be pretty cheap on eBay.

If you are going to be using them on film cameras that speak TTL, it
will be usable, though very basic.  Personally, I'd sell them off and
get something that has some kind of manual power control.  Sunpaks are
my brand of choice and they tend to be pretty cheap on eBay.

Ecke, I had one of these briefly. It is most unfortunate lens. It
suffers from the worst construction quality of Pentax lenses I have
witnessed. Mine wouldn't auto focus on my *istD. When focused manually
it produced wonderful pictures and indeed optically it is a very fine
lens. But mechanically is totally, and I mean it - totally different story.

Yes, and it is quite wobbly on the barrel too. My sample was certainly
not good as I remember at the time Godfrey was using it with great
success. The only real problem with these lenses is that being where I
am, it is not easy to go over several in order to pick one good sample.
I know if I had picked one, I'd be keeping it, as this lens is small,
versatile and optically very good.

I had that lens at one time and found it surprisingly good. The portrait of the
man that appears on the home page of the Pentax Gallery was shot with it. I
found it sharp and contrasty, and it's an excellent focal length range for a
walk around town.

If I did my maths right, then my latest eBay conquer & divide (buy,

 can comment on it?
 Thanks
