Replaced my computer awhile back and am running Vista. May not be the problem, but in attempting to install 1.30, all I get on the LCD is 1.11. BTW, I don't relate to root of the SD card(?) The exe file that you've downloaded is a self extracting archive. It must be run to extract the binary update. Only the binary needs to be in the root directory. On a windows XP or Win2K computer it would look like this, leaving out extraneous entries. As I've done in the case of past firmware installations, I placed a formatted card in a card reader and downloaded the 1.30 firmware. I then removed the card from the reader and placed it in the turned off K10D. I pressed the menu button and turned on the camera hoping to see a downloading 1.30 message. Instead, all I see (2 attempts) is 1.11. I note that two icons (README and FWDC162B) appear on the Desktop. Should they be accessed in some manner to complete the download? Jack --- P. J. The read me contains the instructions for loading the firmware, the file fwdc162b.bin is the firmware itself. Sounds like you're missing a step there. Did you actually drag and drop the file FWDC162B to the card in the reader. If it's on your desktop it won't be doing you any good.
