I suspect that the problem with your lens will be in exactly the same
place, and if I'm correct it should be able to be cleaned, no parts
required.

Damn, mine is still sitting in bits, the tool I need to complete my

one too, I have heard of other lenses with the same issue, not good
considering the cost and hoopla that went with the lens.
