Thanks, Matthew!  I find focus peaking to be a very useful tool in some 
situations - really came to appreciate it with the K-01. It is not 
something that I could use in anything but a slow paced shooting setup 
(like the forest floor shots) but then it is invaluable because you get 
a really clear sense of what is in focus.

I'd add to Bill's comment - with focus peaking the sharp edges are 
highlighted. You can easily compose so the plane of focus is where ever 
you want.

Well colored me impressed. The macro lens  k-3 very sharp. Dare I say 
almost distractingly sharp on screen. They should result in outstanding

You can scan the macro you are shooting with focus peaking. You get a 
fairly narrow band of in focus so you just move the macro rail either 
forwards or backwards slightly, making sure you overlap the area of 
focus on each picture.

That sounds workable. I'm not comfortable with live view but this camera might 
warm me up to it for some applications.

The K5 made me appreciate LiveView. The ONLY way I could get consistent 
AF in the studio with the thing was LiveView combined with face 
detection. Pretty effing mortifying if you ask me.
