OK, I feel a bit of a prat about the subject line,
 even though I *did*
have surgery today. It's just that, considering
 some of the health
problems experienced by some other PDML'ers, it's
 quite trivial. I had
a small (1 cm diameter) cyst removed from my left
 cheek today. It was
*much* larger a few weeks ago when the infection
 was running at full
  force. Anyway, I now have a gruesome-looking
 inch-long incision in my
face, sewn up with very tough-looking black
 sutures! Perhaps I'll post

When I got into a punching match with a window many moons ago, all the
doctor used was the medical equivalent of duct tap.

Mind you, it left me with a pretty cool scar on the back of my hand.

Doesn't sound like much fun.

I'm in a similar position. I had periodontal surgery yesterday. I had two
fractured teeth removed, two titanium implants screwed into the jaw, a slice
of tissue grafted from the roof of my mouth and I have an enormous amount of
stitches in the gum and roof of my mouth. In the scheme of things, it's
nothing, but damn it hurts.

But Mark already looks like a pirate or a gangster...

Re: Home recovering from surgery

2006-10-04 Thread Boris Liberman
Hi!

OK, I feel a bit of a prat about the subject line, even though I *did*
have surgery today. It's just that, considering some of the health
problems experienced by some other PDML'ers, it's quite trivial. I had
a small (1 cm diameter) cyst removed from my left cheek today. It was
*much* larger a few weeks ago when the infection was running at full
force. Anyway, I now have a gruesome-looking inch-long incision in my
face, sewn up with very tough-looking black sutures! Perhaps I'll post
a photo later. Or perhaps not. :)

Wishing you speedy and complete in a cosmetic sense recovery from your
illness...

Though in Russian we say that scars make man more attractive to women
I'd say the natural unaltered look is preferable.

Boris

I'm jealous, all I ever get is staples! ;-)

Staples? We'd 'ave been glad to 'ave staples! When I was a young man
we used to 'ave to bind our wounds up with duct tape. *Used* duct
 tape!

Luxury!

We had to open our own wounds.

We dreamt of wounds.
We only had little wee cuts.
