Re: MZ-S Manual Online
The only vivitars that I have had trouble with were KP/R with both the Pentax and ricoh pins, the newer vivitar lenses now use a ball bearing inplace of a pin so it no longer jams on the AF shaft. Actually I should Photograph this to show you all. --- Carlos Royo <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Christien Bunting escribió: > > > > Thanks. > > > > I have 2 Pentax Lenses , 2 Vivitar and one Ricoh . > I'd have to make note not > > to put the Ricoh lens in. > > > > Christien: > I have to be a bit more specific. You get focus confirmation in the viewfinder and also trap focus, which only works with manual focus lenses. As for the metering, you can use centre weighted and spot metering with non-A series lenses, and with A series optics, you also get multi segment metering. The only possible gripes with a very small number of independent K mount lenses in an MZ-S and other AF bodies is that they could get jammed in the body mount, this can happen with some lenses which have the contact required for program mode in some Ricoh bodies, and also with a very small number of other independent lenses, but for a different reason. Some members of this list have experienced this problem and can tellyou which specific lenses to avoid. I have several AF lenses but the lense I use most with my MZ-S is a 135/2.8 prime. It is a fully manual lense and I use it for shooting ballet. Metering works just the same with the manual with the meter on the right to show your stops above or below 'optimal'. Kind regards Kevin - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. RE: MZ-S Manual Online
I don't have the manual here at work with me right now so will see what it says when I get home. In the meantime, perhaps others can help you out with these questions. From memory I know that the metering options are limited by not having "A" type lenses (the ones with contacts), but until I can look in my manual I cant give anything less vague. Re: MZ-S Manual Online
Ok. I'm in the misted of probably buying it this week. What I really wanted to know from the manual is the handling of manual focus lenses, more importantly none pentax lenses. How will the metering adapt to them and also what infomation will be printed on the film. But of course if you are willing to scan the entire manual for the rest of the pentax memebers, I'll be most thankful. I'm unable to afford an AF lens with the body right now, but I believe if I don't make a move soon I'll never get the MZ-S. RE: MZ-S Manual Online
If you are looking for particular parts I can scan a page or two from mine, but the manual is over 1/4 inch thick in it's entirety!
