Way back in high school, I mentioned that someone's work had 'put the
anal back in analogy'.

Bob,

The artspeak has intrigued me, especially since I am a Lynch fan. Can you
give me some more info on Hughes as I am not familiar with him?

Thanks,
Geoff

Hi, Doug,

Right you are. Most politicians are, after all, lawyers! No wonder we're
in the mess we're in.

Well, around here, politician is an almost proper subset of lawyer.

That's just old fashioned "pompous assedness".

I think that's mostly so they can say they blew people into tiny pieces
without making the general public realize too closely what they've
said. ;^)

What did Zappa say?

"Writing about art is like dancing about architecture."

Or something to that effect...

C'mon nothing beats lawyer-speak, for self-important emptiness! I used to
know a lawyer who, in his correspondence, refused to say "photocopy", but
rather, called them "electro-photo-reproductions". Instead of writing "last
Friday", he wrote "Friday 'ultimo'". I could go on... Sheesh!

And, don't get me started on Military-speak (my favourite!).

"res ipsa locquitor" ;-)
