I don't know if they > reduce > the performance of the card, though. I have three of them. They reduce transfer speed with Sandisk Ultra II cards by about 10-15%, otherwise work fine. I have two types: one type you fit the SD card into the CF card adapter, then the whole package fits into the CF slot ... allows me to use SD cards in CF cameras. The other type is only useful with a reader as it hangs a big multi-card-type slot array outside for use with Memory Stick, SD, etc. If you haven't located a source, I'll hunt up where I got these from.
