View photographs? Never heard of such a concept. I thought the accepted
practice was to count the number of megapixels, divide by the amount of
noise present (plus the amount of time it took for the camera to
autofocus)
and then multiply by the number of frames per second before the buffer
 fills.

It's available on DVD and is without a doubt my favorite book on the
subject. US $9.95 ...

 Hi folks,

Anyone have any recommended links to online articles about how to view
photographs? My son has started his photography course (A level in UK) and
his first essay is about Norman Parkinson's work. I thought it would be
good if
he read some critiques of [anyone's] work first to get an idea of what to
look
 for.

I don't know about anything online, but if I were to try and give someone a
crash course in such things I would recommend the following books:

How To Read A Photograph, Ian Jeffrey. This is an analysis of quite large
number of well-known classics as well as some lesser-known photographs.

Photo Design, Harald Mante. The very best introduction to composition,
therefore good for analysing as well as taking pictures. Out of print, but
have a look on Amazon, he has reworked it all in some very recent books.

On Being A Photographer, David Hurn. Of course.

Bob

The post-modernist viewers also multiply by max ISO. Bloodbath over whether or
not to include extended range.

point him here for a wide range of thought about photography:

I'll second Bob's suggestion of the Ian Jeffrey book, and the two Hurn
and Jay books.
