Hmm, the message I'm getting is the Quality Photo Lab is closed locked up
while everyone is hanging out at the Games of Berkeley store. What kind of
commentary regarding photo developing can one draw from this?

It made me think (although now my brain hurts g). I couldn't figure it
out, but it made me think!

It's just that when you look at a photo that you know has been taken by a
storyteller (photographically speaking, of course), and it seems not to
say much (relative to his other images), it gives one pause.

 Which this did.

 Interesting concept...

He's not real, frank. Shel constructed him. Maybe. Or maybe someone else did.
That is my educated guess, anyway.

Look at where the guy meets the brick.

I could be totally wrong. But we shall see.

You're right, it was a tight framing. The pic is
uncropped. Here's where the guy is sitting, taken from
across the street:

There are a few other shots from closer perspectives. I
only wish I knew what I was doing with the digicam then.
These were all med rez JPEGS. Had I known then what I know
now, they'd have been large TIFFS. Oh well ;-))

About where the guy meets the brick, you'd have to know how tightly Shel
has cropped this shot. If memory serves me right, the fellow is snoozing on
a bench that backs up against a low brick wall that's part of the entrance
to the subway station. It just so happens that the side walk is also lined
 by bricks.

Shel, let me know if I'm giving too much of your location away. It was a
frequent part of my life for a while.

What he said, but I need more neck or something. Maybe. Not positive. A
little less abstract on the person maybe. I mean I like the abstractness of it, but
I had to look at it a bit, or more than a bit to get it was a person. I might
want more character in the person, looks like they had a nice, weathered,
wrinkly neck. Not sure.

How's that for clear feedback?

I like it.

Umm, how can you see the fellow's neck? It's covered with
a scarf.

There's more to see in the pic than the person in the
foreground.

Glad you like it, though ;-))

Perhaps what I'm trying to say is too deep or abstract,
perhaps I'm not
trying to say anything, perhaps ... Look deep into the
photograph, look at
all the elements, the smallest detail ... perhaps something
will strike you
... perhaps ...

I have a good imagination. :-) I think a little skin near the hair is what I
