Doh! I made a bunch of typos (misspelled and omitted): Date: Thu, 29 May 2014 15:51:11 -0400 (EDT) From: Igor Roshchin That's a great catch! I like how it is framed, and the angle. I also like the colored background and the way the grass appears OOF in the foreground and in focus around the beast. I am not 100% sure if it is the effect of JPEG, but the eye appears slightly less sharp thAn I'd wish it to be. If IT IS not an artifact of resizing, I would have increased the DOF for that. Re: PESO - 'Caribou'
Thanks steve. just curious — how large can you print that, given it's 6mp (*istD)? I haven't printed this image yet, but I've printed images captured with the *istD to 13X19 that have held up well. Interesting and very well composed shot. Terrain makes me wonder if these might be the Barren Ground variety.(?) Where taken? Thanks! Jack, thanks for commenting - Terrain makes me wonder if these might be the Barren Ground variety.(?) Yes they are - Rangifer tarandus Where taken? Deep in Denali N.P, from the road, across from one of the rest stops. Several hundred feet above the gravel river bed. It looks a bit oversharpened to me at that size, though. I guess that could be a result of using Velvia, though. I don't know jack about slide film. I've only ever shot one roll of the stuff. :-) -- Thanks, DougF (KG4LMZ) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
Re: Peso - Caribou in formation
I like this one. Didn't see your original post. The backlight creates some interesting highlights and textures. Cropping an inch or so off the top might be a nice alternative, but I like it as presented.
