Thatnks, Don. I have two of the large, standard magnolia trees that bloom in early spring, before the dogwoods. I have two other dwarf magnolias. One loses most of its leaves in winter, then blooms in late spring, well after the dogwoods. The other keeps all its leaves all winter long, and then has occasional single blooms from late spring through early fall. All are beautiful and quite different. Probably a nice idea, but it lacks in execution. A major issue for me is that the background is too distinct distracting. I'd also like better exposure on the pine needles to bring out the green color. Hi Paul I too find the bokeh quite pleasant here. There is a dust spot on top of the flowers head btw. Content wise this photo does not a lot for me but I think you just wanted to show what the zoom is capable of?
