Interesting. I would probably have tossed that pic for lack of sharpness in the subject. The title makes it very powerful, though. I like it. (Your advertising experience at work again, Paul!) Re: PESO - And the holy spirit....amen
Paul, That's a lovely picture and I think Rick's comments explain some of why. The title turns it from average to special. Of course, you have to take the picture first to get anything special! Re: PESO - And the holy spirit....amen
Now that I can see it properly (not on a cell phone) it does work quite well. With the religious context given by the title, the softness of the image becomes a kind of transcendence. That's the point of using incense in church, after all. RE: PESO - And the holy spirit....amen
I disagree - I think the title makes it tacky, like the cover of one of those nasty religious books that people read and which are designed to make them feel better & do nothing about their shitty lives while separating them from their hard-earned cash. (although the shot could probably earn a fair bit of cash from that market) The picture stands on its own merits and reminds me of some of the very best Japanese photos that I've seen of cranes, herons and similar birds. > > Interesting. > > I would probably have tossed that pic for lack of sharpness > in the subject. > > The title makes it very powerful, though.
