Very nice dance floor :) It could stand more sharpening if you want
to. You got them in a really nice pose, plus the awesome surroundings
more than make up for any flaws. I like this very much.

I'd do a few Google searches for places that specialize in processing
expired film. There are a few threads at photo.net about this sort of

As far as I know, Efke R100 (BW) is about the only film still available
in 127. BH and Freestyle both carry it. About $5/roll.

Film for Classics carries 127 film but it ain't cheap.

 http://www.filmforclassics.com/html/printable_order_form.htm

The frugal photographer carries only color film for a bit less

 http://www.frugalphotographer.com/cat127.htm

I think BH photo has it as well, but I haven't looked there in ages.
 I don't have a 127 camera that's special enough to pay a minimum of $7
plus processing for 8 shots, (maybe if I had a baby Rollie but my
Bakelite brownie isn't that great). It's funny but now it's less
expensive to shoot 120 than 127.

And Rick said this, though I had to go to the archives to get it.
(You're mail problems are contagious, Rick!)

It has a rather Soviet-era air about it, for sure. I
have mixed feelings about it too. Without the Soviet
touches it would be an ordinary snap.

I don't think we should put qualifiers on good photographs. I think
it's kind of a fun photo, but I'm not sure if it qualifies as good.
Maybe artsy? Who knows? Holgas have received quite a lot of attention
these last few years, and that's one of the reasons I own one. And I
suppose it is good enough for a Holga. (I'm not bashing Paul's response
here.) But to qualify it that way make me think of the jokes on this
list about professional photographers and Pentax cameras. :) I'm
probably putting too much effort into this. It's a fun snap, nothing more.

Thanks for the replies, folks. Much appreciated.

Someone took the film guide out of his Holga to make it a 6x6. :-)
OOC, how do you keep the exposed sharp edges from scratching the film
 after the guide is removed?

The newer Holgas, produced in the last year or two, come with two film
guides - 645 and 6x6. No more sharp edges! I should have lied and told
you how I spent countless hours filing and sanding and light proofing my

This is the kind of shot that a Holga is great for. I like it.

Thank you, sir. Much appreciated.

If you are upgrading- lets have some fun with the old one.
Point a heat gun at the lens, and get it good an aspherical.
And lumpy. And arty.

Scott- I like the Holga look. A bit more of her face would be nice.
It is a sweet picture of a little girl.

Is it art? It could be.

It seems like a large part of art is having the nerve to stand up and
DECLARE THAT THIS IS ART.

And it is good to have people agree with you.

But what do I know? I'm just this guy with a camera.

I'd do a few Google searches for places that specialize in processing
expired film. There are a few threads at photo.net about this sort of
thing.
