I like it. Looks almost like a marine zoot suit!

The yellow one in the background looks pretty interesting, too. Too bad
you couldn't get them both facing the camera and in focus.

Underwater or aquarium?
I like this the best of your submerged shots - except for that one
turtle shot... nice balance of colors - would work in a field guide well
- clear shot of fish, etc.

Thanks, Walt, PJ, Ken, Ann and Frank for your comments.

Ann, this is a shot in the aquarium. The turtles were actual
underwater shots (with a non-Pentax underwater camera).

Yes, Walt, as an old Marine, I can attest to the fact that a Marine
zoot suit would be a camouflage suit of an entirely different nature.

Actually, the red and white stripes are camouflage of a sort.
Cardinals are nocturnal fish, and at night at the depth at which they
live, the red is not easily seen.

Re: PESOl: Cardinal

2012-02-25 Thread Daniel J. Matyola
I did take some (actually quite a few) images in the ocean while I was
snorkeling, with my Sea Life underwater camera. Since it is not a
Pentax, I have not been posting those images here, except for the
turtles of course. The images taken on the reef are not of good
quality, for the most part, because of the difficulty getting close
enough to the fish and because of sand, bubbles and reflected sunlight
between the camera and the fish. I am working on a small gallery of
those shots, however, and may post a link to them here as an "OT" post
when I am done.

I've always been a freshwater guy. I have pared down to 3 tanks and a
small goldfish pond. I would take some pictures but it would mean I
would have to clean the glass.
