Charles (if memory serves) has won several GFM prizes and honourable
mentions for his flower shots.  He carries around a spray bottle of
glycerin (to simulate raindrops) and several velvet and other cloth
backdrops to isolate flowers in nature from backgrounds.

IIRC there have been complaints about his methods (by losers,
methinks) but he's well within the rules of the competition.

And he's a hell of a good photograpther!

BTW, Dave, I think that "bad weather makes good photographs" was
uttered by someone before Charles.  For certain the late Mr. Morton
said it...
