Re: Pre-flash (p-TTL) tips?
Hi Mike, You can use the AF360FGZ as a standard (non P-TTL) flash by setting it to slave mode 2. To do this you turn the flash on, press and hold the Light button until the slave mode appears. Then press the S button to change modes. Mode 1 is P-TTL mode 2 is standard slave. Don't forget to change it back! You can't use the RTF to trigger the others though so either use an AF360 set to A or M or use another flash in manual or auto mode. I hope this helps. It's making my subjects blink 3/4 of the time, and the 1/4 results in half-closed eyes. I can't switch the flashes to any mode besides P-TTL because I'm using them in wireless mode (well, I can switch the off-camera main flash to A or M, but not the on-camera fill flash). Any tips on how to avoid the blinking? Thanks Mike -- Remember to Breathe -- MichaelHamilton.ca -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
Re: Pre-flash (p-TTL) tips?
One of the GFM team,(Ed Tyler) that assisted in taking our group photo had us do this. We closed our eyes, then asked us to open them on the count of three. As we did that, he shot and got us with our eyes open. Re: Pre-flash (p-TTL) tips?
One trick is to use the 2 second self timer. The pre-flash would fire first at the start, and the main flash would fire two seconds later with the exposure. Not sure if this is acceptable for your application.
