Two thoughts...

1. Personally,I have always been happy when pushing Provia 100F.
2. I agree 100% on Velvia for most landscape/nature shots. If I have been
shooting something else and then shoot a roll of Velvia, I am always
reimpressed.

 If Velvia is what you're used to, nothing else will compare (except maybe 
Kodak E100VS).

 I'm not really fond of the stuff but I keep a couple of rolls around for when I 
want the extra "punch".

This is one of the caracteristics of Provia F, pushed or not; the total inability to 
render blue sky in a way that remotely resembles something that can be experienced on 
this planet. 
My experience is that polarizers won't help much either.

Hey Joe,

I've seen several samples of push-processed Provia 100F and they look great.
The recommendation I've heard (and seen the results from) is to rate the
film at 320 and do a 2 stop push.
