Re: Question about SR
So, instead of ONE-one thousand, TWO-one thousand ... it's ONE-five hundred, TWO-five hundred ... ;-D From: David Parsons It's about half a second. Something to remember about shake reduction is that it is never really turned off. It can be disabled, but the mechanism is still active even when off to keep the sensor positioned. -- William Robb -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Re: Question about SR
Quoting David Parsons : Only when half pressed. SR also turns itself off when you set a time exposure mode. A useful feature because you're supposed to turn it off when the camera is mounted on a tripod and it's ridiculously easy to forget to do it manually. It then takes a moment to stabilize the image; stabilization is indicated in the viewfinder with a "shaking hand" symbol. If you fully depress the shutter before this symbol appears, SR may be ineffective, and my experience suggests that the image may even be degraded, compared to SR being turned off. Once you release the shutter button on the K10D, SR becomes inactive, and you have to start the cycle over again. My understanding is that on the K-5, SR remains active after your release the shutter button, for whatever (configurable) period of time the meter remains active. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
