Re: Survey: Your Most Unusual Shot - Thanks
Bob Shell asked about one that got away pictures. We were on a motorcycle tour of Colorado a couple years ago. We were just leaving the Great Sand Dunes National Monument at dusk when I looked to my left and saw absolutely perfect golden light on the upper halves of the mountains from the last of the suns rays. We were three hours behind schedule, everyone was hot, tired and grumpy and I had to find the group a place to sleep so I had to let the shot pass. Tom Reese How about some the one that got away stories? I'm sure lots of people here have stories about those once in a lifetime stunning images they came across when they didn't have a camera with them.

The Blue Man in Bath shot is just one of them. BTW: Here's the latest version of it: http://www.robertstech.com/temp/7cf01017.jpg -- Mark Roberts Photography and writing www.robertstech.com

It’s hard to tell if this thread has run down yet. Maybe not. If you still want to, feel free to continue to add your reply/answer. However, I wanted to throw my thanks in now. Interesting replies!!! Ranging from the humorous to the very serious. I now have a lot of “weird” images in my head, including: feet, dead cats, lizards, hairs, naked bikers, twirling bears, etc. I think you can tell that I tried to frame the question so it would be broad enough for interpretation. I figured most people would know if they had taken an unusual shot or not. But, by defining it a bit, I just wanted to prompt for the unusual, if anyone was in doubt. I, personally, didn't answer because I feel that I haven't shot anything that unusual. Or shot anything really hard to capture. And I assume a lot of us felt like that. I am not sure it inspired me to shoot anything in particular (think I'll avoid smelly feet and dead cats, thanks). But I definitely found it a sort of mind-expanding exercise. And I enjoyed tremendously reading the stories and viewing the photos. I hope everyone else did too. Thanks to everyone who participated!!! It was a nice break from our more dry, technical discussions. Marnie aka Doe And I must visit Denali someday.
