Hi mate,

hey - you worked on any pics from your visit yet? I'd love to see some
of your Oxford pics!

Cheers,

I just finished putting the slides in their pages.
I hope to start culling through the 17 rolls and picking out ones to
scan this weekend.

I still have not put up the prints.
If I can scan them this weekend, maybe I can get to work on them next
week when I have headed to Baltimore for the week.

There will be no PDML meetings this time though, I have much keeping me
busy - even in NYC :-(

I use to get it solidly back in place?

Here I am! Gee is nice to be needed ;-)

I have used contact cement with no problems - I just make sure that it
is applied thin enough.

Now, to make Cotty happy

But do you really want to just put on the same old leatherette? Give
the camera a bit of panache, character if you will, make it say that it
is yours. Look at http://cameraleather.com for some possibilities.

I have two LX cameras redone in snake skin. I am thinking about doing a
third and possibly doing some other K-mount and screwmount cameras.
Look at
http://groups.msn.com/CesarsPhotography/lxen.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=996
for a peek of the two reskinned among the 'stock' LXen.
I also have a page at
http://cesar_abdul.home.mindspring.com/LX_skin.html that shows them when
I first reskinned them.

How time flies, they were reskinned four years ago!

Others have reskinned, so I am not alone in this :-)

To reskin my cameras, I tried to look for a glue that was strong, but not so
strong so that I couldn't reverse if I wanted to. Cyanoacylates or acetone-based
glues are a bit nasty. Acylic-based contact cement is better. Apply a small
amount to both surfaces and brush flat. Let it sit until it goes transparent
(and tacky). Then glue. It peels off cleanly if any gets where it shouldn't.

Every accetone based glue is OK.
