Rest assured, the men are already the slaves. Women are much too smart for
us, but only a small number of men realize this. It took me many years to
come to this conclusion and verify it to my satisfaction.

Re: circular polarizer question

2001-05-29 Thread Dan Scott

Hi Scott,

The camera does it for you. The ZX-5n's light meter doesn't know you've put
a filter on, it just measures the light making it to the meter and adjusts
Av and Tv accordingly. You may not have hurt much, depending on the film
(print film is more forgiving than slide film).

Metering is through the lens, hence through the filter. No manual
compensation should be necessary.

Hello,

the answer is NO. The camera will compensate by itself because there
is less light going inside the camera...

Re: circular polarizer question

Since the camera meter will compensate the difference automatically, you do
not need to compensate manually. So the answer is "no". However, if you use
a handheld meter, the answer will be "yes".

:^) you seem to want an "automatic polarizer";^)

You still must orient the polarizer to relative to what
degree of polarization effect desired w/ either type.
The circular ones are needed by certain AF cameras which use
some sort of mirroring in them. Someone else will have more
detailed info, sooner or later. Having to re-adjust when
changing focus distance can be a nuisance, though.
