Of course on the digitals, the color cast is probably a trivial problem...oops! At 1:08 PM -0600 4/19/05, jtainter wrote: http://www.hermes.net.au/bayling/repair.html -- Alan P. I think this technique is obsolete now. There are ways to clear the lens without needing to damage anything in the moderen world. ( Trick involves using a UV lamp - email for details if you really need to know). JCO -Original Message- From: Alan P. As a repairman myself I am deeply wounded. I have NEVER, and would NEVER suggest, such a thing! NOTHING over a 4lb maul should ever be used in this delicate procedure. Any larger tool and the pieces are much too hard to find! I've done the same procedure using some aluminum foil, a north-facing window, and about 2 months worth of sunshine. Worked nicely on two Takumar 50/1.4's. -Mat On 4/19/05, J. C. http://www.hermes.net.au/bayling/repair.html That made me sad. I hope no one does that to me when I'm old yellowing. BTW, I once heard (perhaps from someone here) that sticking a yellowed lens under ultraviolet lights for a month or so would help reverse the yellowing. Any truth to that? The only problem I have with that is he should have been wearing safety glasses. g Dave S On 4/20/05, jtainter [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: http://www.hermes.net.au/bayling/repair.html
