That's exactly why I fear that the ISO range will top out at 400: If it were
higher, Pentax would have said so.

It isn't determined yet. As I said elsewhere, don't read tea leaves...lots
about this camera is not yet set in stone one way or the other. Wait for the
production models.

  From CNET.com:
Unlike competitors, however, this camera has a
 1.8-inch LCD that can be
used as a viewfinder instead of just for playback
 and menus.

As I understand it, this is also said by

Does this mean that the *ist D has the video camera in the finder projecting an image
to an LCD screen for preview as patented by Pentax back in 1999?

It could be as simple as MLU when the screen is activated in shoot mode. If the
regular viewfinder is just a little TV, why have a mirror at all?

So far no one seems to know, I'm betting on some kind of MLU.

You could be right, very interesting, this feature that sets this DSLR apart
from the competition. I can see the PJ raising their *ist D above the crowds
to make the shot, while composing using the LCD.

Most likely it is just a translation mistake...

I am a bit skeptical though. If this feature is real, I just cannot see
how this could be left out of the press release. For all you know, the
german web site may be getting the info from cnet :-)
