I wore my House of Windsor commemorative Y-fronts - they've given me sterling service at every Royal occasion since the Investiture of the Prince of Wales. They're a nice robust nylon with a print at the front showing a flagpole with the heads of Her Royal Britannic Majesty and Phil the Greek at the base. At the back is a nice image of Prince Charles on one side, Carnavon Castle on the other, and a prize Welsh leek up the middle. I made a vow in 1969 not to wash them until the day after Charles's coronation. Bob: that first boat picture is quite stunning. The infra-red rendering worked beautifully. I'd say you have a lovely frame for printing and framing. The snaps were fun as well. Re: The Pool of London
The first image of the boats, the bridge and St Pauls in the background is just superb! The others are also very well done of course. The funny little Union Jack birthday hats are a hoot! what's the story with the visible man displaying his internal organs? How does that fit in with the Jubilee? Of course, my hero is the brave soul with the I am no one's subject sign. From: pdml-boun...@pdml.net [mailto:pdml-boun...@pdml.net] On Behalf Of Daniel J. Matyola The first image of the boats, the bridge and St Pauls in the background is just superb! Thanks! The others are also very well done of course. The funny little Union Jack birthday hats are a hoot! what's the story with the visible man displaying his internal organs? How does that fit in with the Jubilee? It's a sculpture by Damien Hirst standing outside Tate Modern, where he has an exhibition at the moment. It is a giant-scale steel model of the sort of thing you see in schools, colleges and doctors' surgeries to show people where it hurts. Of course, my hero is the brave soul with the I am no one's subject sign. G There was a demonstation by about a hundred members of a republican organisation by Tower Bridge, some of their banners invoking the spirit of 1793 - which probably went straight over most people's heads. Of course they should have been invoking the spirit of 1649 - we're not French, after all, and we started the fashion for beheading kings. As I passed the demo some idiot draped in the Union Jack hit out at one of the demonstrators. Remarkably stupid, but fortunately the republican didn't respond.
